Honor and Remember Heroes of Other Conflicts

On the morning of Sunday September 29, 2013, the Run will stop at the VFW Post 4715 in Point Pleasant to Honor and Remember the 18 NJ Heroes from the Barracks bombing in Beirut, Lebanon, Operation Desert Shield, Operation Desert Storm and Operation Gothic Serpent, Somalia. The Team will present individual Bios and flags to Honor and Remember these NJ Heroes.

Lcpl William F. Burley. Hometown: Linden, NJ. Age: 23 years old. Died: October 23rd, 1983 in Beirut, Lebanon.

Sgt Manuel A Cox. Hometown: Union City, NJ. Died: December 4th, 1983 in Beirut, Lebanon.

Lcpl George L Dramis . Hometown: Cape May Court House, NJ. Age: 19 years old. Died:January 30th, 1984 in Beirut, Lebanon.

Lcpl Sean F. Estler . Hometown: Kendall Park, NJ. Age:19 years old. Died: October 23rd, 1983 in Beirut, Lebanon.

WO1 Paul G Innocenzi III. Hometown: Trenton, NJ. Age: 27 years old. Died: October 23rd, 1983 in Beirut, Lebanon.

Cpl James J. Langon IV. Hometown: Lakehurst, NJ. Age: 20 years old. Died: October 23rd, 1983 in Beirut, Lebanon.

Spc. Jimmy W. James. Hometown: Willingboro, NJ. Died: December 21st, 1990, Operation Desert Shield.

Lt. John M. Snyder. Hometown: Milltown, NJ. Died: October 30th, 1990, Operation Desert Shield.

Operation Desert Storm

PFC Tyrone R. Bowers. Hometown: Trenton, NJ. Died: September 14th, 1991, Operation Desert Storm.

Sgt Garett A. Mongrella. Hometown: Stanhope, NJ. Age: 25 years old. Died: January 29th, 1991, Operation Desert Storm.

Major Marie T. Rossi. Hometown: Oradell, NJ. Age: 32 years old. Died: March 1st, 1991, Operation Desert Storm. Major Rossi was the first woman in United States history to serve as an Aviation Commander during combat, and the first woman pilot in United States history to fly in combat during the Gulf War in 1991.

Both SGT Pilla and SPC Smith were portrayed by actors in the movie Black Hawk Down.
